Review on the Research for Separated Continuous Linear Programming: With Applications on Service Operations

    Get PDF
We give a review on the research for a class of optimization model—separated continuous linear programming (SCLP). SCLP takes several similar forms and can be used to find the dynamic control of a multiclass fluid network. We review the duality theory and solution methods for it. We also present application examples of SCLP on service operations

Electronic and Structural Properties of C36_{36} Molecule

The extended SSH model and Bogoliubov-de Gennes(BdeG) formalism are applied to investigate the electronic properties and stable lattice configurations of C36_{36}. We focus the problem on the molecule's unusual D6hD_{6h} symmetry. The electronic part of the Hamiltonian without Coulomb interaction is solved analytically. We find that the gap between HOMO and LUMO is small due to the long distance hopping between the 2nd and 5th layers. The charge densities of HOMO and LUMO are mainly distributed in the two layers, that causes a large splitting between the spin triplet and singlet excitons. The differences of bond lengths, angles and charge densities among the molecule and polarons are discussed.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures, 4 Table

A Systematic Examination of Member Turnover and Online Community Health

    Get PDF
A key characteristic of online communities is the fast turnover of their membership. Because online communities rely on voluntary member contribution to survive and succeed, member turnover can have important implications on the resource availability and the health of a community. However, empirical research on the effects of member turnover in online communities is rare. Most research assumes that slower turnover and higher retention are positively associated with community outcomes, without directly testing that assumption. A few studies have challenged this view and suggested that turnover can be beneficial in certain conditions. In this study, we contribute to the understanding of member turnover in online communities by systematically examining the relationship between member turnover and multiple dimensions of community health. The results will offer practical implications to online community managers on whether and when to retain member in their communities

The Relationship Study Between Teachers' Perceptions Toward Organizational Culture and Their Job Satisfaction at a Polytechnic in Henan, China

The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between teachers’ perceptions towards organizational culture and their job satisfaction at the Polytechnic in Henan, China. The participants were 60 full-time teachers from Economics and Management department during academic year 2019 at a Polytechnic in Henan, China. In this study, two major research instruments were used to identify respective research objectives. The researcher adopted the survey including two parts: the part of organizational culture based on Saravanan (2013) and the part of job satisfaction based on Herzberg's (1959) Two-Factor Theory. The collected data was analyzed by Descriptive Statistics, Frequency and Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The study results indicated that the level of teachers’ perceptions of organizational culture was High, and their Job Satisfaction was High. Consequently, it was determined that the relationship between the two variables was found to be Significant, it was interpreted that the relationship between the two was positive due to the correlation (r) value of .702. This study provided some information for the school leaders to understand teachers’ job satisfaction toward organizational culture in the school. It was recommended that teachers should evaluate whether their teaching behaviors are optimized, pay attention to the quality of teaching work, improve their professional ability to achieve career path

Individual Technology Acceptance Under Conditions of Change

    Get PDF
Information technology is changing rapidly. However, existing technology acceptance models do not consider the impact of changes on individual acceptance of information technology. This paper introduces the construct of technology change and integrates current technology acceptance models with social psychology theories of attitude change to propose a theory of technology acceptance under conditions of change. Beginning with a review of current technology acceptance models, this paper considers how they implicitly deal with IT change. A conceptualization of technology change focused on rate, magnitude, and distribution of change is then presented. Finally, a three-stage theoretical model of how technology change affects acceptance through individual attitudes and beliefs is presented. The core of the model focuses on the processes of forming attitudes and beliefs about technology change, changing attitudes and beliefs about the technology, and technology acceptance decision making. These processes are expected to be moderated by the visibility, relevance, and compatibility of the changes. This model, by integrating the reality of technology change with extensive research on technology acceptance, extends our understanding of the complex interplay between technology and people in dynamic, evolving information systems
